Steps to Obtaining a Work Permit During the School Year
Please be sure you have completed the following steps prior to applying for a work permit:
 
Step 1: Secure Employment. Students need to secure a job before obtaining a work permit.
 
Step 2: Download the work permit application linked HERE. 
 
Step 3: Complete the work permit application:
1. Students are to complete the sections "Minor's Information" and "School Information."
2. Employers are to complete the section "For Employer to Complete" - print and sign their name.
3. Parents/guardians are required to sign the form for knowledge and consent.
 
Step 4: Bring in work permit application to the counseling office. Turn in to Mrs. Murray. You will be called back once the work permit is available.

Step 3: Complete the work permit application:

Step 4: Request an Appointment
Email [email protected] to request a work permit. An auto-reply will provide appointment instructions.

Appointments will take place at:
William S. Hart Union High School District Office

Santa Clarita, CA 91350
 

During the summer (June 9 – August 7), work permits will be issued by appointment only. Appointments will be available:

  • Monday from 9am to 12pm

  • Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm

  • Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm

  • Thursday from 9am to 12pm

  • Please note that we will not issue work permits on June 19th. The District Office is closed for Juneteenth. Each appointment is 15 minutes in length and can be scheduled by emailing [email protected].
